Independent Novel Assignment: Where it all came together
The book assignment you completed for your first novel was a paragraph and a graphic organizer addressing character traits and character change. Although this may seem like a small "project" it was a significant assignment for you to showcase your understanding of the skills being introduced, practiced, and applied in our learning lab.
Reading Skills:
- Annotation for character change and literary devices
- Identifying character traits
- Identifying logical text evidence for support
Writing Skills:
- Creating paragraph structure for clarity
- Generating sentence variety to improve "flow" of ideas
- Building depth of ideas intentionally to strengthen position
Presentation Skills:
- Creating work quality representative of thought quality
- Reviewing and reflecting on completed work
- Adjusting/revising work for clear communication if needed
We have created a broad view of many skills in this one assignment. Your task is to intentionally apply these skills and expectation in conjunction with new one presented in the future.
