How to Avoid Plagiarism When Writing an Objective Summary
Being able to write an objective summary is necessary before you leave 8th grade. The only problem with summary writing is that it can be difficult to avoid plagiarism.(Plagiarism is easy to do without knowing it...)
It's going to take practice to refine your academic writing skills and structure your writing with as many original sentences as possible.

Review the steps below. Apply them to the process of generating a summary, and writing summaries will be a piece of cake!
Steps to Creating an Objective Summary
1. Preview the text: Skim and/or Scan
2. Read the text the first time for an overview (no annotating)
3. Read the text a second time: Annotate
4. Generate a graphic organizer about the information you read.
